The 2023 Innovative Government Award (IGA) program will be held in the near future. Recently, the BSKDN – Indonesian Ministry of Home Affairs has initiated a meeting with SMART CITY Universitas Indonesia for a collaborative work on the Validation of Regional Governments’ Innovations, which was held on May 5th, 2023, at Universitas Indonesia. Nadya Kamila, S.Ars., M.Ars, the Chairwoman of SMART CITY Universitas Indonesia, warmly welcomed the arrival of BSKDN - Indonesian Ministry of Home Affairs and decided to further pursue this collaboration.
SMART CITY Universitas Indonesia has maintained a collaboration with BSKDN – Indonesian Ministry of Home Affairs since 2021. In the past two years, SMART CITY Universitas Indonesia has been directly involved in validating the Regional Governments’ Innovations data and has consecutively received awards as Validation and Quality Control Team.
Jerry Wallo, S.Sos., M.M., the BSKDN’s Head of Human Resource Division, pointed out that the collaboration between the government and university must continuously be encouraged. Data from IGA is now widely used within the Indonesian Government, thanks to the Universitas Indonesia’s contribution. Moreover, Arzad Sectio, S.IP., MPA, the BSKDN’s Sub-Coordinator Competence Standards, highlighted that they have learnt from the previous regional innovation validation practices and have developed more friendly application and comprehensive index assessment manuals for regional innovation that can help ease the validation team to generate more rigorous result of the validation.
Innovative Government Award is an annually held program in Indonesia.
With this collaboration, it is hoped that SMART CITY Universitas Indonesia and BSKDN – Indonesian Ministry of Home Affairs may continuously collaborate in the future, and contribute to one another.
