[Vacancy] Looking for Research Assistants

SMART CITY (Scientific Modeling, Application, Research & Training for City-Centered Innovation & Technology) is a center for collaborative research that encourages research groups, technical laboratories and individual researchers to use interdisciplinary approaches in their work, collaborate on a global scale, and create scientific and technological innovations as response to facing urban challenges, including the adoption of green technology, information technology in urban administration, services, and governance; reliability of urban infrastructure; and the rapidly declining quality of life, health, and general wellbeing.
 
We are looking for strong candidates to fill research assistant positions within the SMART CITY project supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Sustainable Higher Education Research Alliances (SHERA) program. The research assistants will work closely with SMART CITY CCR team and will be based at Universitas Indonesia, Depok, West Java, with regular travel to project sites, when necessary.
 
General Requirements:
• Holds at least a master’s degree from a respectable university in Indonesia or abroad
• Has a minimum of 2 articles published within the last 5 years in reputable international journals/conference proceedings
• Willing to work as a research assistant for at least 20 hours per week while completing a doctoral degree program at Universitas Indonesia
• Acceptance as research assistants is conditional upon admission of the applicants into the relevant doctoral program at Universitas Indonesia
 
Specific Requirements:
1. Economic Development Researcher or Analyst
• Holds at least a master’s degree in economics, public policy, or public administration
• Has at least 5 years of experience in policy development and policy development analysis
• Professional level of proficiency in applied statistics or econometrics
 
2. Urban Development Researcher or Analyst
• Holds at least a master’s degree in urban development, urban studies, regional development, regional planning, or regional science
• Has at least 5 years of experience in spatial analysis or spatial policy development
• Professional level of proficiency in applied statistics, econometrics, advanced quantitative spatial analysis, or pattern language
 
3. Information Technology Researcher or Analyst
• Holds at least a master’s degree in information technology, computer science, or management information system
• Professional level of proficiency in image processing and web-based programming
 
4. Sustainable Electrical Power and Energy Storage System Researcher or Analyst (3 positions)
• Doctoral students in electrical power engineering, materials engineering, or physics engineering
• Has a proven track record of scientific works, such as published books, indexed proceedings, or journal articles
 
5. Biorefinery Researcher or Analyst
• Holds at least a master’s degree in chemical engineering
• Has a proven track record of scientific works, indexed proceedings, or journal articles
 
6. Biosensor Researcher or Analyst
• Holds at least a master’s degree in chemical engineering
• Has a proven track record of scientific works, indexed proceedings, or journal articles
