METHODOLOGICAL ANALYSIS FOR THE SELECTION OF PUBLIC BUILDINGS
FOR ENERGY AUDIT AND GREEN BUILDING ASSESSMENT PROJECTS
Purpose

The purpose of this analysis is to provide a structured methodology, based on a progressive requirement of information, for the prioritization and selection of public buildings for the conduct of energy audit activities.
The proposed methodology is adapted to different contexts since the assessment of the building selection criteria can be configured according to the priorities and specific needs of the city.

Methodology

For the selection of the buildings, a series of steps is proposed that allows the process starting from a wide list of buildings to a small group, organized according to the priorities of the city.

Phases

It allows entering a list of the buildings for the implementation of the project. It seeks to include basic information on the buildings such as their address, the area/city/regency/district to which they belong and their typology. This tab allows you to do a first filter using three criteria (location, typology, age of building).

Shows the list of buildings resulting from the first filtering performed. Likewise, it allows the application of another enabling criteria to the selection process.

It seeks the prioritization of buildings through the use of social, financial, environmental, construction and energy indicators. Users will be able to assign a specific weight to each criterion according to city priorities, public policy guidelines, or the specific purpose of project implementation. In this way, special relevance can be given to the co-benefits that can be obtained from the project, beyond the use of conventional project evaluation criteria.

An order of priority is obtained using information from the characterization of the preselected buildings through the use of the multi-criteria analysis. With this information, the final prioritization of the buildings for the implementation of the project is obtained.
